Prescription diet pills, which are basically appetite suppressants, are used in the short-term treatment of obesity.  Unlike other weight loss drugs, such as herbal diet pills, prescription can only be purchased from an FDA approved pharmacy and require a prescription from a doctor.  Prescription are most probably the safest type of on the market.  Prescription are generally prescribed for patients with serious obesity problems.  Prescription can have seriously unpleasant side effects, and even lead to dependency in some cases.
