Appetite Suppressant
By Dave Kettner

Appetite suppressants are designed to keep you from being hungry so that you eat less and subsequently lose weight.  promise appetite suppressant properties, but low-carb nutrition and whole food supplements work far better.  Appetite suppressant medications should be used only by patients who are at increased medical risk because of their obesity and should not be used for "cosmetic" weight loss.  Hoodia gordonii helps for weight loss, but isn't a miracle solution.  The popularity of Hoodia gordonii as an appetite suppressant continues to skyrocket.

Hoodia Gordonii

Hoodia gordonii helps, as I've stated in previous articles, but it by no means turns off your hunger like a light switch.  Hoodia sends signals to the brain that make the brain believe that the body is full, even when it is not.  Those who wish to suppress appetite, increase energy levels and lose weight can benefit greatly from using Hoodia as a nutritional supplement.  To easily understand how Hoodia works, one simply needs to know how a tribe in southern Africa’s Kalahari Desert has been using it for centuries.  Hoodia gordonii can bring good effects to those who are using it; it can even increase ones stamina which is a good thing in losing weight.

suppressant medications approved to treat obesity, two medications have been combined to increase their ability to promote and sustain weight loss; fenfluramine and phentermine.  People respond differently to appetite suppressant medications, and some people experience more weight loss than others.  However, few studies have looked closely at the safety or effectiveness of appetite suppressant medications when used for longer periods of time.

Appetite suppressants might just free up a person to not have to think so much on the subject in the first place.  With the help of an appetite suppressant, you can curb bad snacking habits and reduce the amount of food you eat at mealtime.  If you've ever taken a chemical appetite suppressant, you know that the side effects can be alarming.  Some prefer using a drug to curb appetite, whereas others find help from a natural appetite suppressant.  Some of these natural appetite suppressants include Hoodia, green tea, Caralluma, choline, ephedra, carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, and citrus aurantium.

Expectant women, nursing mothers and children should not consume hoodia gordonii appetite suppressants.  Some patients have reported depression or memory loss when using appetite suppressant medications alone or in combination, but it is not known if these problems are actually caused by the medications or by other factors.  Patients taking appetite suppressants should contact their doctors if they experience shortness of breath, chest pain, faintness, or swelling in the lower legs and ankles.
